Building Permits

 

The Town of Granby operates under the 2021 International Building Codes, with some exceptions as outlined in Granby Municipal Code 15.05.040.   

 

Before applying for permits, ensure that your physical address is in the Town of Granby by referring to the 2025 Town Official Zoning Map as some addresses have Granby, CO 80446 as their physical address, but are located outside of Town limits.

 **Building Permitting Transition Notice**

The Town of Granby will be transitioning its building permitting services from the Town of Winter Park to its own Building Department over the next two months. This change is designed to improve service accessibility and better support local development. There will be no interruption to permitting or inspection services, and both Winter Park and Granby staff will remain available throughout the transition to answer questions and provide assistance. Contact information for both departments is provided below.

Key Dates & Transition Details:

Permitting

January 2, 2026 – January 31, 2026
During this period, permits will continue to be reviewed and approved by the Town of Winter Park Building Division. Applications should be submitted as usual by emailing permits@wpgov.com.

Beginning February 1, 2026
All permit applications must be submitted through the Town of Granby’s online permit portal:

Permit applications will no longer be accepted by the Town of Winter Park after this date.

Inspections

The Town of Granby will conduct inspections for any building permit issued on or after January 2, 2026. Starting February 1, 2026, Granby will perform inspections for all open building permits, including those previously inspected by the Town of Winter Park Building Division.
