Granby Municipal Court

The Granby Municipal Court is committed to the administration of justice with equality, fairness, and integrity. Court employees strive to treat those present with respect and dignity.

  • Proper attire is required in the courtroom
  • Cell phones and pagers or similar electronic devices must be turned off in the courtroom
  • No large bags or backpacks allowed in the courtroom
  • The court reserves the right to refuse entry into the courtroom. 

 

Municipal Court is held in-person on the third Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in the Granby Town Hall at Zero Jasper Avenue. The court hears cases including traffic, parking, animal, and other municipal code violations. It does not hear civil or felony cases. Some charges may require an appearance in court, while others may be resolved by paying a fine. If you choose to come to court, you will be charged the court cost of $30.00.

 

Although court employees cannot give legal advice, answers to procedural questions may be requested. Court proceedings are governed by state statutes, court rules, and the Ordinances of the Town of Granby. Juvenile defendants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
