Traffic Accident Reports

Traffic accident reports can be requested for free through CrashDocs and cost $10.00. Request your accident report


Criminal Incident Reports

Complete the Records Request form and send the completed version, along with a copy of a valid government issued ID, to info@granbypolice.com.

Other police reports and digital evidence are charged at a rate of $40.00 per hour to retrieve, research, and review. Please note that for every one hour of digital footage, approximately three hours of review time should be anticipated. Deposits may be required for larger requests prior to initiating research. Records will not be released until all fees are paid in full.

Criminal History Checks

The Granby Police Department cannot provide criminal background information to the public. You can request a criminal history check directly through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.




Legal Information

Release of police records and reports is governed by the Colorado Open Records Act and the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act. Some reports may not be releasable; others may have certain information redacted as required by law.

CRS §24-72-305.5 — Access to Records; Denial by Custodian; Use of Records to Obtain Information for Solicitation. Records of official actions and criminal justice records, including names, addresses, telephone numbers, and other information contained therein, shall not be used by any person for the purpose of soliciting business for pecuniary gain. The official custodian shall deny access to such records unless the requesting person signs a statement affirming that the records will not be used for solicitation of business for pecuniary gain.

CRS §24-72-305.5 — Violation; Penalty. Any person who willfully and knowingly violates the provisions of this Part 3 is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00), imprisonment in the county jail for not more than ninety (90) days, or both.
