Trustee Shaw was born in Boulder, Colorado and raised in South California. She attended San Bernardino Community College as a pre-med student. She graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. She set up practice in Granby in 1981 and has been in business for 30 years. She has an Advanced Chiropractic Degree in Pediatrics and is a Certified Acupuncturist. She is married to Jeff Shaw, D.C. and they have two boys, Steve and Dan. Both boys are Eagle Scouts.
